Benny's Lexicon

I've tried to put these vaguely in order but they aren't strictly in order
after the first couple of entries. I lost track somewhere around CAR.
The words on the left are spelled like Benny pronounces them,
unless he pronounces them correctly, in which case they're
spelled correctly, not phonetically. The words on the right
are what the words on the left are supposed to be. Two
pronunciations separated by a slash indicate a progression.

GOG Dog

Dog was the first word and came in July of 2000, when Benny
was six months old. He said it vehemently and repeatedly and
still pronounces it the same way, in October of 2001.

GOOM E, O

Benny could recognize an E and an O in December of 2000, at
11 months, and called both of them GOOM. Around this time
Benny started inventing a lot of nonsense words like DUCKA,
GADDLE, ZZ-DAH, etc. After GOG, no more words came for
almost a year.

DADA / DADADEE / Dad Daddy
SSS-TAH / DAT Cat

Dada and Sss-TAH came in the spring of 2001. Dad and Dat
developed out of that later in the fall.

Baby Doolittle and Teletubbies, and reading Dr. Seuss's ABC,
Marvin K Mooney Will You Please Go Now, and Mr. Brown

Benny started recognizing letters and numbers very well in Sept 2001.
He can identify all those listed above, and likes to find them in signs,
license plates, TV ads, books, etc. He has had a bit of trouble with 6 and 9,
L and 7, M and W, and still pretty much refuses to admit there is
such a thing as U or V, but we're getting there. He can count to twelve.
