Six Month Birthday!

Since I was born so close to Christmas and since summer is a better time to have outdoor parties, Mumsy decided to throw me a half-birthday party. I know I'm not technically six months old until the 27th, but my friend Sam and his mother Lucy were visiting, so we celebrated my half-birthday a little early.

Party guests enjoyed the yard swing immediately, and set about taking polite turns and following proper yard swing etiquette. No one fought, no one shoved, no one got wounded, and all in all everyone set a good example for me in my youthful and impressionable state.

Here Lexi demonstrates a non-traditional swing posture while Sam and Callie drive to school in the Playhut bus.

Meanwhile I was asleep in my crib. I mean, birthday parties are great and all, but must I really be expected to wake up for all of them? Don't I get one every year? Naps are important, Mumsy keeps telling me. Well, here I was taking one and...

... then I found myself out in the yard watching kids run through a giant water-squirting thing that spouted bubbles and shot water about forty feet in every direction.

Here you can see some Mommies congregating around the table that had all the bubble mix and sidewalk chalk on it. You know those Mommies know how to party. Oh yeah.

Mumsy made cupcakes inside waffle cone bowls. The idea was that they would be less messy. Hmm.

The good thing was that everyone figured out how to eat the cupcakes. Essentially, you just had to work out a way to get it all in your mouth.

Here I am hanging out with my friend Cooper who is one month older than I am. He liked my hat. And who wouldn't? I happen to like it myself. I also like random pieces of stick that I find within reach. I am easy that way.

Razz came to the party to assist with clean-up. My dog, Hobbes, was shut up in the back yard so that he didn't distress any small people going inside to use the potty.

Due to a flash rainstorm that was very intense and bothersome and wet, the present-opening had to be carried out inside with a very modest audience.

I like presents.

Here I am the next day with my friend Sam in a post-party good humor. Our Mumsies just love this matching outfit thing, and dragged us to the mall to make the best use of it. Sam and I are proud to say that while we spent most of our time twirling our hats around, we didn't lose either of them.
