First Annual Maypole Dance at
Moss Meadow School

Twelve children helped lift the pole, to carry it down the hill.
I know you'll have difficulty spotting Benny since he's
dressed in such conservative colors, to match his natural neutral palette,
so I'll help you. Benny is the one with the orange head and the
multi-colored striped shirt.

Here they go down the hill with the pole on their shoulders.

Approaching the green where the violinists were playing a dance.

Getting the maypole set to raise up.

Raising the maypole!

Benny and Gabe are on the left there. The little girls in the back
are Mariah (red) and Lorelei (blue). I'm not sure who the little
girl in the front is, but they were all having fun!

Benny in stripes. Gabe in the blue print. Happy little boys.

Winding the ribbons on the maypole.

The setting for this was absolutely stunning -- by the water
on the perfect velvety grass and with the violins, on such a bright afternoon.

The violin players made it very lovely and fun to dance too!

The pole is getting wound up now...

Wound very tight! All done!
