May 2004

Benny is the one trying to play his violin like a dulcimer.
Anything, anything, ANYTHING to violate the
"no playing, keep your violin on the floor" mandate.

It was a hot, hot day. Mrs. Ford was trying valiantly
to keep the children out of the sun, but Benny still wilted a bit.

Waiting to play. Bit of wilting.

Again, violating the "no playing" rule. Naughty pants!

"If I can't play my instrument when I'm not supposed to, I can
at
least bang my bow on my hand when I'm not supposed to."

Now that it's time to play, Benny has apparently sweat out his
brains
and is wandering around the stage like a lost violin salesman.
Note the QUITE EXEMPLARY child in the pink dress next to him.

"Ah yes. TWINKLE - I remember now - I'm supposed to PLAY!!"

Silly brother antics are a hit with the babies in the crowd.

Sawing away. I was, at this point, weeping proud tears.
It was his first time playing Twinkle in public after all. I'm allowed.

"First time I play Twinkle in public, I want a car."

Mrs. Ford had to explain to the audience that the Twinkle
variations
would eventually end. For me, they could have gone on for hours.
It was a great great moment!

"I just made a great moment in my pants!"

Ah, the sweet sweet sound of many little violins twinkling in
unison!
I will never get tired of hearing that song!

DONE! We made it through all the variations! WHEE!!!
Thank you MRS. FORD!!!! The magician!
