Suzuki Violin Performance

Wanna check Benny's hair and bow hand against
this same performance from last May? Go
here.
You'll notice his hair is significantly spikier and his
bow hand is now upgraded to the adult position.

Benny and Sebastian, another homeschooled child
in the fabulous Suzuki program at the Academy of Music.

Before the performance began, Benny played an improptu
solo for the waiting throng. He played Allegro.
Serious boy.

Here's Benny later playing his actual solo. He played a
bizarre
version of Twinkle that was an amalgam of various duet harmonies
and also a melody that appears on one of Sadie's toys. Interesting.

I love this boy. He is so cute.

Sadie and Dad were in the audience. Sadie
is making notes for her Suzuki debut at Stockley
Gardens in May 2007.

Notice he doesn't have the colorful tape marking where
the notes are on the fingerboard anymore. He actually has some
black tape to help him, but he doesn't really use it. Mostly he
just listens and gets the notes in tune thataway.

Waiting to play, with his violin actually in exactly the right
"waiting" position for once in its life!

Sadie launched her new orange corduroy skirt
for the occasion. And tights, too, don't forget.

And binky.

My sweet wonderful precious angel boy.
He is now playing a 1/8th size violin.

Waiting to play. With utmost patience.

Much later in the performance he's waiting to play with
significantly
less patience. In fact, at this point his violin had been confiscated because
he kept trying to play on every song including concertos and minuets
and whatnot because he believes he can play anything.
\
Here he's checking out a nearby clown who was making
balloon animals for kids who were watching.

Don't worry Benny, Mommy will get you a balloon animal!
He chose a blue dog, and he played with it VERY enthusiastically
all day Saturday and still plays with it -- of course he did!

Here the kids are doing "the worm." Mrs. Morton is very silly!
She introduced The Worm which means that you play the violin
of the child next to you, with your bow going under your own violin.

Here's Mrs. Stevens supervising the worm being set up.

The Worm!!
There were two more worms of bigger kids off camera to the
left. Pretty amazing feat -- they played Perpetual Motion!
