Out of this World!
AKA Space Camp
June 2004
Benny went to music camp with Ms. Joanne at the Academy of
Music
every morning for a week and here is the show they did at the end of camp!

The theme of the camp was space.

Benny got very attached to Henry who was Ms. Joanne's
helper and also boyfriend. When we saw the show I realized
why Benny was so fond of Henry: Henry was in charge of
keeping Benny in line and did it kindly and efficiently.

On the second day of camp, Benny made Henry a picture
called "Henry and the Solar Sistum" and gave it to him.

Virginia was Ms. Joanne's other helper.

And here is the vivacious and hilarious Ms. Joanne!
Benny really really liked her and wanted desperately to
go to camp each day. When it was over he was appalled.

Benny is holding Mercury. Space camp has sparked an interest
in space that has evolved into something of an obsession. This evening
at book reading time I was noticing that Benny is learning "smaller than" and
"bigger than" with Phobos and Demios, the moons of Mars, while his
kindergarten workbooks are still showing him puppies and kittens.
I didn't even know Mars HAD MOONS!

He likes to say Mercury is his favorite planet.

In this picture, apparently Benny had wandered off.

A dance and song about the phases of the moon.

The plants are orbiting the sun.

Hooray for SPACE CAMP!!! Benny had so much fun -- he was
really really impressed with every aspect of it, and enjoyed it to the hilt!
Thank you Ms. Joanne and Henry and Virginia! Amazing experience!
