What a day
We went whale-watching today. It was all great except for the low whale turn-out. Apparently they all missed the memo. I was expecting us to be all shivering in the cabin under 8 blankets while Dan bravely manned the wheel with ice forming on his eyebrows, but it was actually quite bearable and Sadie and I stayed out on deck the whole time. Benny did retire to the cabin for a nap, after using his Christmas binoculars to search for whales. We will try again -- now we're determined.
AND...
Benny's tooth came out! I was brushing his teeth and it kind of turned around backwards, which prompted him to ask me to pull it out, which I happily and easily did. WOW did it look strange, sitting there in his hand! Shocking. He was completely serious about the whole matter. Put it in an envelope and addressed it to the tooth fairy -- so there you have it. I asked if I could keep it, and he said, "No, Mom, the most important thing is that it leaves this house." Huh? Whatevah. He was almost solemn about the whole matter.
Tomorrow is his first swimming lesson with his new teacher Miss Ruby. He hasn't had a lesson in over a year (I think?) and he's at a point with his crawl/backstroke where I can't help him anymore -- he needs decent instruction. And after that he has his first trip to the dentist! How timely!!!
