I'm guessing that simon fuller is going to curveball us and pick a bouquet of styles. Probably a funk, and a gospel and a few pop ballads, and a rocker or two. I guess if I really was on top of things I would have submitted a more up-tempo song. It would have boosted my odds, eh?

Here's a song I wrote 3/19/07, sitting at my piano "Dreamin', Prayin' & Believin'"...for a safe return of our son SPC. David Dale, who's currently serving in IRAQ.

Shortly after writing it, I was led to send it to Jordin Sparks, for her to perhaps sing it one day.

Then, AI announced the competition, so, I felt I should enter it, but, it was not written specifically for the competition.

If you do the math, the maximum days 19 Entertainment "AR staff" had to review all 25,000 submissions would be 27 days since it opened on
4/4/07. Thats considering working 7 days a week, 8 hours a day.
Now, lets say the average song length is 3 minutes. Since there are
1440 minutes in a day,an 8 hour day would be 480 minutes. If you divide a review of a 3 minute song in a working day, one can only review a maximum of 160 songs. If you review 160 songs a day, working 7 days a week(which I doubt they did), the maximum reviews one AR staff member can review would be 4,320.
Of course that figure doesnt come close to 25,000, but I did inquire to 19 Entertainment as to how their judging was performed and how many
judges reviewed each song, and, as of yet, have not had a reply.
So all those songwriters out there, dont get discouraged over the
"top 20" that someone had selected, which is another story all together, but just realize that logistically, I highly doubt your
song was fully and quality reviewed the way it should have been for a 10.00 entry fee, and I also doubt that every submission was reviewed at all.
Something to think about.

Thanks for organizing this list. (It must be a lot of work to keep that updated!) These are the types of songs I was expecting would be submitted for the contest, and I am so glad to have the opportunity to listen.
