      ( 7:43 AM ) Lostcheerio
Last night due to taking Dad to the airport at 5:00am, Benny fell asleep at about 6:30. At about 8:30 he was coughing so I went up and got him settled back down, then came down the stairs and saw some guy walking around on our porch. WOW that got the old adrenylin flowing. I sort of drifted over to peer out the blinds and he saw me looking. Then he started ringing the doorbell 100 times. Some scruffy guy wearing dark jacket and hat, very scary. I called 911 and in a controlled voice reported what was going on and that I was home alone with my child and afraid. Then I sat down on the floor in the office and had a quiet hysterical fit. After a few minutes he quit with the doorbell and was gone. The police came, walked all around the house with a flashlight to see if he'd been in the backyard, etc. They also drove around the neighborhood to see if they could spot him.

The policeman speculated that the guy had been poking around on the porch to find out if someone was home, or whatever, and then when he saw me, he rang the doorbell to cover up his activity, and then pushed off. That made sense but it was still hard to settle down and go to sleep after that. Of course this has to happen the day after Dan leaves for California. These things just don't happen when Dan is at home -- there must be an aura about the house of "My husband will rip your throat out if you even think about it" that keeps evildoers away.

Anyway, all fun and games here in Pregnantlandia.
