Friday, April 23, 2004 ( 7:14 PM ) Lostcheerio Again we went to the YMCA and Sadie swam. She had a lovely time and was adored by all who saw her. # Wednesday, April 21, 2004 ( 7:52 PM ) Lostcheerio Sadie is asleep in her bassinet. Today she swam at the YMCA and had a very good time. She took a deep nap in her car seat after that, not even waking up when we came in the house, and then she woke up, ate supper, and then I had choir practice so I left. When I came home she was perilously close to sleep, against Dan's chest, with her little wing tucked under his arm... so charming and darling... so precious. When she saw me she sort of propped one eye open a little tiny bit, but she wasn't strong enough to overcome the soporific effects of Daddy's rocking her. SO CUTE. I DIED OF IT. # ( 1:17 PM ) Lostcheerio Compare to Benny at three months HERE. She looks so much like him except that he is SO HUGE!!! So enormous. And a warning -- there is a picture of him sitting in a laundry basket that made me weep with laughter. It is possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen. THOSE CHEEKS!? # ( 12:23 PM ) Lostcheerio At last new Sadie pictures. :) ![]() Here is a page of pictures of Sadie's first laugh, and some pictures of her sleeping on Daddy. Last night she was in her little portable swing upstairs in Benny's room and we were playing with her and she said, "OTTY OTTY!" I promise you, it is true. I'm sure it was a pure coincidence, just like when she manages to grab something with her hands, but let me tell you -- she is REALLY trying and working all the time. She is always trying to work her hands to grab her hanging toys on the playmat and she is always trying to make sounds... and she *can* grab that rattle and she can say "Boooo" and she can say "Gooooo" for example. And last night, as CLEAR AS DAY she said, "OTTY OTTY." So there you go. # ( 9:54 AM ) Lostcheerio What kind of horrible terrible person am I that I haven't updated this blog for two WEEKS? And worse yet, worse yet my friends WORSE YET I didn't take any pictures of Sadie on Easter because I couldn't FIND MY CAMERA?! I'm an eedjit. Clearly. Speaking of Easter, Sadie rolled over from back to front on Easter Sunday. When she got onto her tummy she commenced screaming her head off -- she hates being on her tummy and we have no clue why she decided to try to roll there. Watching her try and do these physical things it's like she's being driven by an internal purpose, very mammalian, like she's a baby horse trying to get mobile so it can run with the herd. If only she knew we are more than happy to tote her around for years and will protect her from the cougars indefinitely if only she'd agree to stay little. Also during Easter week she had her first laugh. She laughed at Dad playing peek-a-boo. Will she laugh at Mom doing anything? No. Only Dad is funny. :) Last night Benny read her "Five Little Monkeys" and then kissed her goodnight. He's starting to feel like she might not be evil incarnate. For her part, she finds him endlessly fascinating and entertaining. :) I will try and get some pictures ready today. # |
