      ( 8:18 PM ) Lostcheerio
Sadie is playing with her silly pig. She's actually holding it and playing with it. I had her upstairs reading to her and to Benny at Benny's bedtime and then I held her down for Benny to kiss and he declined, as usual. Then he said he wanted to kiss her. So I held her down to him again and he kissed her heartily, and said he wanted to hold her. I put her down next to him and he put his arms around her and cuddled right up to her and said, "I'm going to hold this baby while I am going to sleep. You go downstairs now." SWEET LITTLE PEOPLE.

Sadie likes to hold hands. She's intensely interested in the whole grasping/grabbing/probing/feeling thing, and she really likes to play with our hands. Yesterday we were in the car and I was sitting in the seat beside her because she was a little fussy, and I gave her my hand. She was grasping it and grasping it with her little tiny star-like hands, and making increasingly mouselike noises, and then I looked over and she was ASLEEP - she fell asleep holding hands. The sweetness of it is just unendurably piercing. She is just the NICEST little girl that there ever ever was. Round little head and all. Too charming.

      ( 7:33 AM ) Lostcheerio
Weeell, last night I was playing with Sadie on the sofa and she rolled over. Quite purposefully. Rolled over and then got both her arms out in front of her and pushed her little noggin up in the air and waved it around with interest. Did not cry or fuss or hate it. I rolled her back, she rolled back again. She rolled over three times. The MOST distressing thing, apart from the head control and the lack of crying, was the kicking and thrusting going on in the leg department... AS IF SHE WAS TRYING TO MOVE AROUND. As if she was trying to move FORWARD. Very alarming. So, hey, great, now she can roll over. I'm so thrilled I could lie down in front of a speeding tricycle.

She's been sleeping erratically and basically nursing all night, which leads me to believe that growth is on the horizon, so this physical leap may be what she was working on. Last night she slept much better, of course I held her in the crook of my arm all night long. Hehehe. I HAVE TO WHILE SHE IS STILL A BABY! Someday she won't want to sleep in my armpit all night! So last night it was back to the usual schedule of one wake-up at 3 and then asleep again until 6. Significant improvement from the last few nights where it's been every so often I wake up and she's irritated because she's gotten dislodged from the nursing station. Nurse nurse nurse nurse... I should have known some sort of step ahead was on the horizon.
