Sadie just rolled from front to back, twice. Did I mention that her constant occupation is the grippygripping of her little foots? They are very good foots and they must be grippied without ceasing. Grippygrip while eyes are focused elsewhere and brain is motoring off on other topics.

      ( 8:32 PM ) Lostcheerio
Sadie had her four month appointment today. She weighs 14 pounds even and I can't remember how long she is -- 25 inches maybe? She is just above average for height and weight and waaaay above average for head size. OOPS! Where did we put that giant brain -- OH THERE IT IS! IN THE BABY'S HEAD! Hehehe. She had four (FOUR!!!!!!!!) shots, two in each leg. She cried briefly and looked really irritatedly at me while it was going on then settled down almost immediately after. Good baby. The doctor said everything about her is completely perfect and he's never seen a more beautiful baby. Well, okay, he didn't say THAT exactly, not in so many WORDS but it was in the way he moved his eyebrows around. You know?

Sadie is grasping grasping grasping everything from the remote control to our fingers to our spoons to our hair, etc. She is REALLY into the whole tactile sensation thing -- she loves toys and can hold them and just loves anything she can grippygrip. It's so adorable you just want to scream with love when she is scritch, scritch, scritching on something. She concentrates with such utter will power on getting whatever she wants to hold, and the total hopelessness of it, if something is out of her reach, does not dissuade her from scritch, scritch, scritching at it in a calculating and obsessive manner. Yes, she is her father's child! Hehehe. She will rule the world!

We all went swimming today again. Sadie was completely charmed by the floats that hold up the lane ropes (scritch, scritch, scritch) and also the reflection of watery light on the ceiling. She was tired when she got there, but went through the whole swim (an hour) and shower and dressing and everything without crying once, and then fell asleep in the car like a little angel. Benny never would have put up with some of the stuff she puts up with, I tell you right now. Anyway, that was our day.
