      ( 9:12 AM ) Lostcheerio
Sadie's sitting here in her beautiful deluxe high chair gnawing a frozen teether. She sat up on Saturday, or rather she independently maintained a sitting position into which she was put by me for a long enough interval that I can say she sat up. Now she's never allowed to do that again. No progress! No milestones! Milestones make her parents cry! Dear little sweet chatty babbling angel baby. On Monday night for the first time I had to walk her while she cried. She was extremely tired and had fallen asleep and then been woken up several times by some small other person who lives here, and she finally just melted down and hollered. She's almost six months old -- this is the first time I've had to sing and walk with her while she screamed her head off and tried to tear out my hair. I knew I was out of practice when I realized that instead of singing something calm and soothing, I'd just sung the national anthem of France. I just don't KNOW where that came from. Channeling some amphibian ancestor, I guess. Sadie still won't eat anything really from a spoon. Periodically I try bananas or rice cereal made with breastmilk, but... she doesn't really care for it and I DON'T MIND. She's plenty fat and juicy just drinking her milk, and as long as that's true, she doesn't have to eat any nasty old bananas.
